Thanksgivukkah

We started off this year's once in a lifetime double celebration with our traditional Thanksgiving family get together with the cousins, Aunt Rachel and Grandma Marcy. Gobble, gobble!
As the week of Hanukkah progressed, we partied with the Pokornys.
Hank tried his very first latke with his friend, Mira.
Then, for dessert, Hank and Mira made candy dreidels. Yum!
Grandpa (formerly Poohpa) came to visit, as well. We celebrated Shabbat together,
and played with toys together, too.
At the end of the holiday whirlwind,
we all headed to the Matz Family home for one last day of Hanukkah fun.
What a remarkable and memorable Thanksgivukkah!

Built to Smash

Daddy's been teaching Hank how to build really tall towers.
There's always a special treat when they are done . . . ready?
 Demolition time!

Carving up Halloween Happiness Cousin Style

Today we had over Aunt Rachel, Sierra and Ryder
for our annual Halloween carving party.
The kids started off the festivities with some spooky appetizers.
Once it was time to break out the pumpkins,
Hank and Ryder created their masterpieces (Hank left, Ryder right).
Then it was time to get "gunky."
Here are the final carvings (Ryder and Rachel smile, Sierra cat, Ari spiderweb, Amanda Big Bird).
Once the pumpkins were complete, it was time to bake cookies.
Hank really loved sharing his love of superheroes with his cousin, Ryder.
When it was finally time to say goodbye and get ready for bed, Hank got to check out our pumpkins shining brightly on the front porch.
Thank you Matz family for a coming our way.
This Halloween is definitely off to a heroic start!

Florida Fun

Wahoo! Time for some warm weather fun
at Poohpa and Cindy's house in Fort Myers, FL!
Our first day started out with pool play.
The next day we all headed to the beach. Ah, a little taste of heaven.
Hank loved sharing the waves with Poohpa.
And for a beach finale, Cindy and Daddy buried Hank in the sand.
When we weren't in the pool or at the beach, we were checking out life as a pirate.
Although the pirate cruise got cancelled due to weather, Hank got his own personal tour of the ship anyway.
The other pirates aboard nicknamed him Hammerin' Hank. Ay Matey!
Only thing better than being a pirate is being a Greenberg!
Of course, no trip is complete without love . .  .
and kisses.
 See you again next time!

Pumpkin Picking

Hank headed off to Rock Creek Farm to pick his pumpkin straight from the vine.
He brought along his buddies, Luke and Maria.
They were all on the hunt for the perfect pumpkin.
After much searching, Hank found his pumpkin and sawed away at the vine.
After that, we were off to enjoy the bounce houses and the jumbo slide.
They were also just starting to assemble a mini hay bale maze for the kids.
Hank loved running and jumping on the bales.
After one last photo op with his friends, it was time to head home.
What an awesome morning!

Fall Hike with Friends

It's the perfect time of year to hike around Red Rocks,
so we got a group of friends together and began our adventure.
From left to right (Isaac, Mira, Asher, Hank) . . .

We're so proud of Hank, too.
He now does the entire 1.5 mile hike (with a lot of climbing) without needing to be carried. Yay!

Dads and Kids Camping Weekend

Hank got to go camping with his friend, Mira, near Colorado Springs.
The dads were in charge and moms had the weekend free.

During the day, the kids built a really cool fort,
climbed huge boulders,
and finished up the evening with a great meal and campfire.
Cheers to the dads and kids - what a great adventure!

Sukkah Building Time

Sukkot starts tomorrow evening, so we all headed over to CBE to help build the congregation's sukkah.
Hank drilled in screws,
  secured beams,
 hammered in nails,
and checked out all the other power tools.
After all his help, the sukkah was soon complete.
Today we celebrated the joy of building with our CBE community.
Tomorrow we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor as we all dine under the stars!
