Camping!

We went camping this past weekend with our congregation's Family Chavurah down at Chatfield State Park.
Here we are in front of our home away from home.
The weekend was full of fun, from hanging out at the beach to capturing treasures (frogs and salamanders) on the playground during a scavenger hunt.
After dinner Saturday night, we all participated in a community Havdallah service led by CBE's Rabbi Jamie.
Hank really enjoyed smelling the spices.
Now that we know Hank's a champ at sleeping in a tent, we can't wait for next year's 2nd annual CBE Family Chavurah camping trip!

Yom Ha'atzmaut - Israel's Independence Day

Today we participated in Congregation Beth Evergreen's (CBE) parent/tot class in honor of Yom Ha'atzmaut.  After a virtual trip to Israel with our tour guide, Grover, from Sesame Street, Hank got to write special prayers on the "Western Wall."
After that, he got to participate in a geological dig for coins and ancient pottery.
Althoug Hank would have dug in the sand all day, he finally made his way to the "cafe" where he tried many new Israeli foods.
 Here's to celebrating Israel's independence!

Pillows, Pajamas and Bedtime Rituals

After our Tot Shabbat services with our congregation (CBE - Congregation Beth Evergreen), we participated in CBE's first Parent/Tot class.  Today was all about creating Jewish Betime Rituals.  Hank got to wear his PJ's and decorate his own Sh'ma pillowcase.  He loved it!
Here is Hank and all of his CBE friends showing off their hard work.
Shabbat Shalom!
