First Snow Day of 2010

We've usually had a few big snow storms by this time of the year, but this year has been different. Today is the first day of real accumulation and Hank's first time to take a snowy stroller ride.
Welcome winter and Happy New Year!

Rory and Hank

Hank and Mommy went to Aunt Rachel's, Sierra's, and Ryder's house for a playdate. While Sierra played with the other kids and Ryder napped, Hank hung with another friend named Rory. They had a lot of fun watching the the big kids play. One day they'll be big kids, too.

But Mommy hopes that doesn't happen too soon. Time just goes by so quickly!

Thanks for a great day and Happy Birthday, Aunt Rachel!

Hank's First Haircut

Hank's needed a trim for awhile now, so today was his big day!
Since Hank isn't big enough to sit in the chair safely on his own, Mommy got to hold him.
There were a few tears, but all in all, Hank did very well. He even got a certificate.
Way to go, Hank!

Final Hanukah Surprise!

To help wrap up the holiday, Grandpa Eli and Cindy sent Hank some gifts for the last night of Hanukah.
Hank had two favorite gifts. The first was the shiny ribbon.
Second was the wooden mallet for the xylophone, which makes for a great teething toy.
Over the next few weeks, we're sure that Hank will also enjoy all the wooden toy trucks, puzzles and more. Thanks Grandpa and Cindy!

Ten Months Old

Here's a quick update on Hank . . .
Although Hank is not yet crawling, he can now easily go from laying down to sitting (this just started happening about a week ago). He still has 8 teeth (which he got around the age of 7 months), but is starting to teeth again. Hank has also just started to wave "hello" back to others.

Family Hanukah Fun

This weekend we had a big family Hanukah sleepover celebration!
In addition to lighting candles, playing dreidel, giving gifts and making latkes, Hank and his cousins did the usual - have fun!
Wanna wrestle?
How about take a mid morning hike?
Or even enjoy a post nap reading session?
Whew - everyone was definitely tired after so much activity!
At the end, Hank was still full of smiles and laughter as he had one last play session with Grandma Marcy. Oh, what fun!!

Hank's Very First Night of Hannukah

Another holiday "first" for Hank!
After lighting the first candle, it was time for dreidel games.
Of course, Hank also got a gift - a wind up cement truck.
Happy first Hannukah, Hank!

No More Floundering in the Crib

This morning was the first time ever that we found Hank sitting up in his crib. Hmmm . . . could crawling be right around the corner?

Turkey Day 2010

Gobble, gobble! So much to be thankful for this year
(besides the turkey turning out to be tender and ready on time -whew!) . . .
First, we had tons of sunshine, which Aunt Rachel, Ryder and Radar soaked up while hanging out in the kitchen.
Then Sierra checked out the house with her cool glasses that let you see the world through a fly's eyes. Totally buggy, huh?!!
Not only was this Hank's first Thanksgving, but it was Grandma Marcy's first Thanksgiving with us, too, and she loved joining in the fun!
And to top off, the cousins partied on!
Ahh . . .
Happy Thanksgiving!!

Cousin Judy's in the house!

So what do you call a second cousin once removed? Family!
Thanks for stopping by on your way to the ski slopes - any member of the Klavins clan is welcome in our home anytime!

4th Annual Family Pumpkin Carving Extravaganza

That's right - it's time to party Halloween style!
And even when Hank thought the party was starting to sour . . .
his cousins came to the rescue with attention and kisses.
Once the boys were napping, the rest of us carved up a storm.
See ya next year!!!

Touchy, Feely at the Troccoli's

Today, Brian provided Hank with his first opportunity to touch a full beard - scratch, scratch! And Jess helped Hank pet Jack's soft fur with a gentle touch, of course.
Last, but not least, this post is in memory of Daisy . . . when Hank was just a few weeks old, you gave him one of his very first doggie kisses - thanks for having touched our lives.

Our First Playdate with Gina and Ellie

Mommy and her friend, Gina, have been trying to get the babies together for a playdate ever since Hank's been born. It finally happened and wow, Hank really enjoyed himself!Ellie, who is a year older than Hank, thought having a new friend over was pretty exiciting, too. Nothing like a lunch date, huh?
After lunch, Hank and Mommy checked out the backyard.
Hank found grass to be very intriguing (something we don't have much of in the mountains).
Before we left for the day, Gina and Hank got to play a bit.
Wow - can we do this again soon?!
